# Brella > Brella is a commercial insurance brokerage in Houston, Texas. It places > property, casualty and specialty programs for businesses, and runs those > programs on its own software — Brella OS — so a client can see the state of > their policies, renewals, certificates and claims in real time rather than > waiting on an email. Brella is a brokerage, not a carrier: it shops the A-rated market on a client's behalf, structures the program, and stands in the room when a claim hits. Brella writes outside Texas where a client's operations reach, and says so plainly when a risk needs a market it does not have.
